Mixed Exponential Estimation by the Method of Half Moments

Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series C, 1964, vol. 13, issue 2, 91-98
Abstract:
The surface area per cubic centimetre of particles of airborne mine dust is estimated as a function of the parameters of a mixed exponential model. The parameters, in turn, are estimated from three ‘half moment’ equations and the asymptotic variances and covariances are derived and these lead to the coefficient of variation of the surface area estimate. An example of the method is given.
