Abstract:
Some of the applications of statistics to soil research at the Macaulay Institute are reviewed. The paper deals with the place of soil testing and field experiments in providing a basis for fertilizer recommendations, model‐fitting and data processing in peat and forest soil investigations and in emission spectrographic analysis, and multivariate analysis in soil classification and botanical surveys.
