The Beta‐Binomial Model for Consumer Purchasing Behaviour

C. Chatfield and G. J. Goodhardt

Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series C, 1970, vol. 19, issue 3, 240-250

Abstract: A model for consumer purchasing behaviour is proposed which is based on the beta‐binomial distribution. The model is tested for several non‐durable consumer products, and the results give insight into discrepancies from a previously used model based on the negative binomial distribution (NBD).
