Roy G. D. Allen

Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series C, 1952, vol. 1, issue 2, 106-117

Abstract: This article is based largely on the work of the Cost of Living Technical Committee as summarised in the recently published Report on the Working of the Interim Index of Retail Prices. Here index numbers are calculated with alternative weights. Links are worked out for extending back to June 1947 and to 1938 the new series of index numbers with January 1952 as 100, as published by the Ministry of Labour. Professor Allen is a member of the Technical Committee.
