Estimating the Future Population
Peter R. Cox
Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series C, 1952, vol. 1, issue 2, 82-94
Abstract:
It is important for many purposes not only to know the present size of the population and its composition, but also to make estimates of future trends. After dealing with methods of making such estimates Mr. Cox gives some of the projections of the population in Great Britain made for the Royal Commission on Population and discusses them in the light of such results as are available from the 1951 census.
