Estimating Individual Expenditure from Family Totals
W. F. F. Kemsley
Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series C, 1952, vol. 1, issue 3, 192-201
Abstract:
Surveys commonly give estimates of the total expenditure of various types of families and it is sometimes desired to deduce from these estimates of the share to be apportioned to typical individuals. This is the problem dealt with in this article. Mr. Kemsley describes and discusses several methods, which have a wider application than to estimates of expenditure, and gives some results which are interesting in themselves.
