Fisher Ideal Index Numbers Formula: A Note
N. T. Jazairi
Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series C, 1972, vol. 21, issue 1, 89-92
Abstract:
This note shows that both the time‐reversal and factor‐reversal tests imply a procedure of adjustment which can be applied to any initial form of index numbers, and which necessarily leads to Fisher's ideal formula. A generalization of the ideal formula is also suggested.
