A Model for the Occurrence of North Winds at Kingston, Jamaica

Zaffar Ali

Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series C, 1974, vol. 23, issue 1, 18-21

Abstract: A simple stochastic model is shown to fit available data on the occurrence of north winds days at Kingston, Jamaica. Other properties of the model are also found to be consistent with the data. Finally, a probabilistic characterization of the length of the season is proposed.
