Abstract:
A number of different test statistics for identifying outliers in factorial experiments have been proposed. Although these statistics are closely related, the critical values given for them can vary considerably. A simulation study has shown that some of these procedures lead to unsatisfactory critical values. An alternative rule is proposed.
