Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series C, 1976, vol. 25, issue 2, 103-106
Abstract:
The paper gives an approximation for the distribution of a test statistic for checking the statistical significance of results obtained through the Automatic Interaction Detection technique. The results link closely with some previously obtained by G. V. Kass and with work by the authors in cluster analysis. The test is applicable only to free predictors.
