Abstract:
A new model of strike durations is proposed and tested against empirical data from a number of Canadian industries. In each case the fit obtained through the proposed mixed‐exponential distribution function is shown to be exceptionally good. Parameters of this distribution are given useful interpretations and a new measure of strike termination is discussed.
