An Application of Discrete Kernel Methods to Forensic Odontology

Colin Aitken and D. Gordon MacDonald

Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series C, 1979, vol. 28, issue 1, 55-61

Abstract: A method of estimating the probability density in a multivariate unordered categorical space is described. Marginal and conditional distributions are considered. An example is given of its use in forensic odontology, with a comparison with methods of multinomial density estimation.
