Tests for a Single Outlier in a Gamma Sample with Unknown Shape and Scale Parameters

Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series C, 1979, vol. 28, issue 3, 243-250
Abstract:
Three tests for a single outlier are proposed and applied to gamma samples with unknown parameters; one based on the principle of maximum likelihood, the others using a transformation of the variables to approximate normality. Percentage points are tabulated where necessary. The performance of the tests in the presence of a single outlier is investigated in detail and their behaviour when two outliers are present is also considered.
