A Change in the Proportion of Jurors

Thomas Corlett

Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series C, 1953, vol. 2, issue 3, 193-195

Abstract: In an earlier article in Applied Statistics Mr Corlett described how the proportion of electors liable for jury service can be used as an index of the economic status of an area, and this index has been used in the design of samples. Recently there has been a change in the method of determining liability for jury service, but Mr Corlett shows here that the change makes little difference to the index for the uses originally proposed.
