Abstract:
Most computer packages estimate missing values from the intra‐block analysis of variance; however, in the literature methods exist for the estimation of missing values using inter‐block information. This note shows how the covariance technique for the intra‐block analysis of incomplete data can be generalized to use information from the lowest two strata of a multi‐stratum experiment. Such a technique can readily be appended to standard subroutines for the analysis of variance with recovery of inter‐block information.
