The Quangle—A Modification of the Cusum Chart

Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series C, 1982, vol. 31, issue 2, 155-158
Abstract:
The Quangle (Quality Control Angle Chart) is a pictorial representation of a time series. It is similar to the cusum chart, but shows a change in the mean by a proportionate change in angular direction, whereas the cusum uses the tangent of the angle. It is useful as a retrospective picture of a complete series. The shape of the quangle does not depend on an arbitrary target value.
