Trimming in Gamma Samples

A. C. Kimber

Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series C, 1983, vol. 32, issue 1, 7-14

Abstract: Some robust statistics which involve trimming are proposed as estimators of the scale parameter of a gamma sample with known shape parameter. Their properties are investigated. Further, with suitable modifications, these statistics may be used as quick, robust estimates of the shape parameter of a gamma sample.
