Abstract:
Non parametric tests based on Kruskal Wallis ranks are discussed. Problems that arise in their application to multiple comparison procedures and multifactorial analyses when the null hypothesis is false are investigated. Solutions of the former are proposed which involve re‐ranking the observations within subsets of the data. A solution to the latter is proposed based on combinations of Friedman rank sums.
