Abstract:
The relationship of birthweight to gestational age is described. Two problems are discussed and solutions offered: the production of standard centile charts of birthweight for very early gestational ages, based on a small amount of data, and the adjustment of birthweight for gestational age in the analysis of factors associated with lower birthweight.
