Simultaneous Acceptance Control Charts for Independent Processes

Abstract:
Acceptance control charts establish control limits based on specification limits for processes where the natural dispersion is small and the mean may be permitted to vary. This paper deals with acceptance control charts where two or more independent processes creating a product, or two or more characteristics of a product, are controlled for simultaneous conformity to specification limits or standards. Optimum sample sizes and control limits for each process are determined even when sampling costs are different. For two processes a direct computational formula is developed; otherwise, non‐linear optimization is indicated.
