Discriminant Functions of Socio‐Economic Class
Kathleen Gales
Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series C, 1957, vol. 6, issue 2, 123-132
Abstract:
The assessment of ‘social class’ is often carried out subjectively, and there is a danger that assessors may differ in their judgements. In this article Miss Gales discusses the use of discriminatory analysis in the assignment of individuals to one of three socio‐economic classes, and describes the results of a preliminary investigation of the problem.
