Statistics and Taste Testing

Norman T. Gridgeman

Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series C, 1960, vol. 9, issue 2, 103-112

Abstract: In this article Mr Gridgeman surveys some of the statistical problems that arise in the testing of taste. He deals with tests of discriminability and tests of preference, and discusses the question whether the subject should be allowed to record ties or should be compelled to give a definite vote even if he is not sure.
