Abstract: Während der Stagflation ist die Beziehung zwischen Preisen und Mengen ein Hauptgegenstand der Wirtschaftstheorie und der empirischen Wirtschaftsforschung geworden. Dabei sind die verschiedenen Tradeoffs zwischen Preisen und Mengen in der «reduzierten Form» präsentiert worden. In diesem Aufsatz werden die reduzierten Formen gemeinsam betrachtet. Dabei werden fünf empirische Regelmässigkeiten behandelt: Preise und Mengen sind positiv korreliert; Inflationsrate und Variabilität dieser Rate auf der einen Seite und die relative Preisvariabilität auf der anderen Seite sind positiv korreliert; die relative Preis‐ und Mengenvariabilität sind positiv korreliert; schliesslich ist die zyklische Preisvariabilität und Mengenvariabilität negativ korreliert. Im zweiten Teil dieses Beitrags wird auf die «strukturelle Form», die die «reduzierten Formen» erklären kann, eingegangen. Dabei wird vor allem der informations‐ und kontraktorientierte Makroansatz behandelt. Verschiedene weitere Hypothesen werden herangezogen. Es wird aufgezeigt, dass die theoretischen Modelle durchaus im Einklang mit den Fakten stehen. Dabei bieten sie jedoch nicht die einzige Erklärungsmöglichkeit. The relationship between prices and quantities has been a major topic of theoretical and empirical research during the periods of prolonged stagflation. It has become a necessity to present the different tradeoffs between prices and quantities in a ‘reduced form‘. In this paper an attempt is made to standardize these reduced forms. Five empirical regularities are dealt with: Prices and quantities are positively correlated; the inflation rate and the variability of this rate, on the one hand, and the relative price variability, on the other hand, are positively correlated; relative price and quantity variability are positively correlated; cyclical variability concerning prices and quantities are negatively associated. The rest of the paper deals with the problems of establishing the structural form underlying the reduced forms. Information‐based and contract‐based macro‐models are considered. In addition, several other hypotheses are dealt with. It is shown that the theoretically rigorous models are empirically substantiated, but by no means exclusive. Le rapport entre le prix et la quantité a été un sujet principal d'une recherche théorique et empirique pendant une période de stagnation continuelle. Ainsi, il est devenu une nécessité de présenter les différentes relations entre le prix et la quantité dans une «forme simplifiée». Dans cet article, on a essayé de standardiser ces formes simplifiées. Il s'agit de cinq régularités empiriques. Le prix et la quantité sont en corrélation positive. L'état de l'inflation et de sa variabilité d'une part, la variabilité relative du prix d'une autre part, sont en corrélation positive. La variabilité relative du prix et de la quantité sont en corrélation positive. La variabilité cyclique, qui concerne le prix et la quantité sont en corrélation négative. En deuxième partie, on a abordé le problème d'établissement d'une forme structurale, qui met en relief la forme simplifiée. On a aussi considéré des macromodèles, qui sont soit information‐based soit contract‐based. Enfin, quelques autres hypothèses spéciales sont émises. On a constaté, que les modèles théorétiques et rigoureux sont confirmés d'une façon empirique, mais ils ne présentent pas la seule explication possible.
