Abstract:
The UK's National Health Service recently came under international scrutiny after a scathing attack from the US healthcare establishment trying to derail Obama's health plans. NHS reform is never far from the headlines at home, either. Here, GP and psychiatrist David Zigmond draws on personal experience to assert that rigid management practices in the NHS derived from models in the corporate sector might be inhibiting the best clinical practice
