Friendly neighbours! The role of community‐level drivers in the territorial distribution of same‐sex couples in Italy

Abstract: In 2016, the Italian Parliament passed a law introducing same‐sex civil partnerships in the country. On January 1st, 2018, 13,256 Italians were living in a same‐sex partnership. The breakdown of these data at a sub‐national (i.e. NUTS 3) level yields an uneven territorial distribution. This paper aims to identify possible drivers behind this pattern, dealing with post‐materialism theory, tolerance towards same‐sex partnerships, and other geographical features (e.g. the city‐magnet hypothesis and quality of life). Standard OLS methods, which also control for spatial autocorrelation, are implemented. En 2016, el Parlamento italiano aprobó una ley por la que se introducen en el país las parejas civiles del mismo sexo. A fecha 1 de enero de 2018, 13256 italianos vivían en una pareja del mismo sexo. El desglose de estos datos a nivel subnacional (es decir, NUTS 3) da lugar a una distribución territorial desigual. Este artículo tiene por objeto identificar los posibles factores que impulsan este patrón, y para ello aborda la teoría del posmaterialismo, la tolerancia hacia las parejas del mismo sexo y otras características geográficas (p. ej. la hipótesis de la ciudad como imán y la calidad de vida). Se implementan métodos estándar de MCO, que a la vez controlan la autocorrelación espacial. 2016年、イタリア議会で、同国で初めての同性パートナーシップ制度を導入する法案が可決された。2018年1月1日の時点で、13,256人のイタリア人が同性パートナーシップ制度を利用している。地域レベル(NUTS3)でのこのデータの内訳から、地理的に均等分布ではないことがわかる。本稿では、ポストマテリアリズム理論、同性パートナーシップへの寛容性、その他の地理的特性(例:都市のマグネット仮説および生活の質)の問題に触れ、このパターンの背景にあると考えられる要因の特定を試みる。空間的自己相関分析の調整もする、標準的な最小二乗法を実施する。
