Review of Development Economics, 2025, vol. 29, issue 3, 1780-1791

Abstract: As digitalization continues to benefit countries, this study examines the role of digitalization in enhancing food security in developing countries. The study utilizes data from a group of 42 developing countries, covering the period between 2014 and 2016, and applies Ordinary Least Squares and two‐stage least squares estimations. The empirical findings indicate that digitalization has a positive impact on food security by increasing food supply and reducing food insecurity. The results suggest that digitalization could be a key factor in improving food supply. Therefore, governments should strive to enhance digitalization to ensure agricultural output, aiding developing countries in improving their food security.
