Review of Policy Research, 1991, vol. 10, issue 2‐3, 99-108
Abstract:
This article examines the impact land effectiveness of a shift from traditional public sector‐led and old‐style business‐led approaches to local development to a more integrative and innovative planning process of broad‐based community involvement. Through a careful analysis of Dayton's economic transformation, this article explores the importance of combining public sector, university, business and grass root community interests to arrive at a region‐wide planning process in which all these disparate elements share responsibility and identify their goals for local development.
