The existence of economies of sequence: A theory of architecture in building an industry agglomeration

Abstract: The segments of an industrial agglomeration consist of physical infrastructure, institutions, human resources and living conditions. The “economies of sequence” is defined as building segments in an efficient sequence. Prerequisite conditions on segments comprise those segments that contribute to a reduction in transport costs. The Granger causality test identified sequences such as the opening of the Tsukuba Express Railway followed by the development of residential towns, the renovation of Kyoto Station followed by implementation of new express schedules, and increasing airline routes between Naha Airport in Okinawa and other Asian cities preceded by the expansion of the airport. Los segmentos de una aglomeración industrial consisten en infraestructura física, instituciones, recursos humanos y condiciones de vida. Las “economías de secuencia” se definen como la construcción de segmentos en una secuencia eficiente. Las condiciones previas de los segmentos incluyen aquellos segmentos que contribuyen a la reducción de los costos de transporte. La prueba de causalidad de Granger identificó secuencias como la apertura del ferrocarril expreso de Tsukuba, seguida del desarrollo de ciudades residenciales, la renovación de la estación de Kioto, seguida de la implementación de nuevos horarios de trenes expresos, y el aumento de las rutas aéreas entre el aeropuerto de Naha en Okinawa y otras ciudades asiáticas, precedidas por la expansión del aeropuerto. 産業集積地のセグメントには、物理インフラ、制度、人材、生活条件がある。シークエンスの経済 (economies of sequence)とは、効率的なシークエンスでセグメントを構築することと定義される。セグメントの必須条件には、交通輸送コストの削減に貢献するセグメントが含まれる。グレンジャー因果検定により、つくばエクスプレス開通による住宅都市の開発、京都駅の増改築後の特急列車の新しい運行スケジュールの実施、空港の拡大に続く沖縄の那覇空港とアジア各都市を結ぶ航路の増加などのシークエンスが認識される。
