Rent Seeking, Conflict and Property Rights

Antony Dnes

Scottish Journal of Political Economy, 1989, vol. 36, issue 4, 366-74

Abstract: This paper develops and refines rent-seeking theory. A classificatory system is developed for rent seeking, quasi rent seeking, entrepreneurship and quasi entrepreneurship based on property-rights effects and a welfare standard. A conflict-rooted view is taken of rent seeking. Copyright 1989 by Scottish Economic Society.
