Abstract:
Einstein's special and general theories of relativity are explained and clarified when they are expressed in terms of the organisational principles of degression (the operation of stable ‘skeletal’ forms that humanity has worked out in its practice to organise less stable ‘plastic’ elements)—in this case, frameworks for spatial and temporal orientation—and degression (the operation of complexes that perform a centralising function in a given system), in this case, the concept of centres of gravity of astronomical systems.
