Abstract:
Now that implementation of the Supplement to the Fourth National Policy Document on Spatial Planning (VINEX) is in full swing, thoughts are already turning towards a renewal of national spatial planning policy. The ‘Netherlands 2030’ exercise conducted by the National Spatial Planning Agency lays the foundations for a renewal of this planning policy. The ‘Netherlands 2030’ discussion document presents four scenarios for spatial planning in the Netherlands in the year 2030. These scenarios provide a platform for a national debate on the spatial development of the country in the twenty‐first century.
