CLINICAL ANALYSIS OF THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF MICROFINANCE INSTITUTIONS IN NIGERIA

Abstract: This paper examines the impact of microfinance on credit expansion for microenterprises in Nigeria with an in-depth analysis of the effects of facilities offered by microfinance institutions on profit, income and savings as well as the train.ing. We used ANOVA and Turkey’s HSD test (Q Obtained) to examine the relationship between our dependent and independent variables, and among the independent variables, and observed that microfinance actually contributes to expansion of microbusiness and its survival in the long run. Our results shows that a functional relationship exist between all the independent variables. We recommends that microfinance institutions be strengthen and microentrepreneurs patronise microfinance so as to expand their business outfit.
