Abstract: The present work features a detailed analysis of the multitude of elements encompassing cultural tourism. In this paper, we will define the concept and describe the numerous particularities and forms of this type of activity. We will highlight its complex and dynamic nature and underline the important interconnectivity characteristic. Furthermore, we will submit a target market analysis, emphasizing the typical profile of the cultural tourism consumer. To illustrate the conceptual elements, we will present a case study, analyzing the George Enescu classical music festival in Romania and highlighting the economic and cultural benefits brought by this cultural tourism event.
