ENVIRONMENTAL FUND IN ROMANIA: ANALISYS OF SOME CURRENT PROGRAMS FOR ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION

Abstract: Environmental challenges are increasing the pressure on governments to find ways to reduce environmental damage. In Romania, all these challenges are faced by managing the Environment Fund and by using public expenditures for environmental protection as a key tool. The present paper presents a brief analysis of some on-going programs funded by Romanian public authorities in 2020. Specifically, the paper presents how public money is used to make waste management more efficient, to expand the national water and sewerage network, but also to improve the environmental knowledge of the population.
