 ENVIRONMENTAL FUND IN ROMANIA: HOW PUBLIC MONEY ARE SPEND FOR A "GREEN" NATIONAL TRANSPORT?Liliana Barbu
Revista Economica, 2022, vol. 74, issue 1, 18-39 Abstract: Air pollution is a problem, both nationally and globally. Among the main causes of air pollution are the pollution caused by transport in general, respectively by road transport in particular. Under these conditions, the mass use of ecological means of transport becomes a national desideratum. The paper is an analysis of public programs conducted in Romania to support the development of a green transport system, available to the private sector and the public sector. The analysis includes seven programs financed from the Environmental Fund. These are grouped into three categories: programs for the renewal of vehicles in circulation, programs for the development of a green supply infrastructure and programs for the replacement of road transport with rail transport. The expected results consist in identifying the performing / non-performing programs and the factors that determine them.
