REFORMING ECONOMICS: WHAT`S AT STAKE FOR HOMO OECONOMICUS?
Maria Gabriela Sterian
Revista Economica, 2012, vol. Supplement, issue 1, 777-785
Abstract:
The recent economic and financial crisis consisted of a series of failures and it has led to the re-assessment of priorities and values not only in terms of the state or corporate governance, but also for homo oeconomicus. It expresses the failure of a paradigm that has had considerable influence on the area of ideas. A battle is taking place between ideas leading to failed policies and which have accelerated the crisis. Faulty perspectives have led both to an economic and to a moral crisis, and the main economic and political decision makers only noticed the issues with much effort.
