Abstract:
This paper aims to conduct an analysis of the way in which we can speak of a country`s sustainable development in the presence of foreign direct investment, starting from the sometimes conflicting interests of the two entities: on the one hand, transnational companies that want to maximise their profits by making full use of the advantages offered by the host country and, on the other hand, the host country that wants to develop a balanced economy, without jeopardising the development opportunities of the future generations. For this purpose a matrix was created and it quantifies the main indicators of sustainable development within OMV Petrom Company, indicators that are assigned to an appreciation category.
