Abstract: Mass industrial production makes possible significantly to increase productivity of labour and to reduce costs compared to other production systems. In spite of this there are reserves for improvement. The article analyses the production of suction tube and suction modules at the firm Robert Bosch, České Budějovice and highlights reserves consisting in the speed-up of changeover times in assembly lines for a new production batch. By change of the routing it was possible to reduce the original operation time of 81,1 min down to 14,5 min. This result was achieved due to new work organization within manufacturing cells. Time saving makes in average 20,7 % of the shift time.
