Abstract:
The establishment of a cluster focused on processing of fine inorganic waste is perceived as positive not only for its further utilization but also for its environmental advantages. However, not all addressed companies were interested in joining the cluster. The reason was above all mistrust and not full understanding of the concept of grouping subjects in the form of clusters, fear of grouping with competitors, fear of a loss of a competitive advantage, unwillingness to provide information and share know-how. Also limited financial sources for prefinancing of the mutual projects played their role in the decision making process. The companies participating in the cluster were interested mainly in the cooperation in the field of innovation, research and development, marketing, and promotion. The lowest interested was in the field of export support. The concentration of costs for the promotion is perceived unambiguously as one of the initial advantages of the cluster membership.Analysis of the cluster establishment and development confirms that even with the occurred problems the creation of the cluster was beneficial not only for the cluster members but also for the Region of South Bohemia.
