Abstract:
The article deals with results of several marketing surveys related to the promotion of Czech products in the regional food market as well as to the consumers' awareness of regional brands. An important part of consumers prefers regional food and food products, is interested in their ingredients and their health impact. Food quality and safety and support to regional producers become important factors in consumers' decision-making. The article summarizes results of particular surveys done in the years 2003-2010 exploring consumer preferences in the regional food market as well as promotion opportunities of these products in the market. Results of presented surveys show an increasing consumers' preference for regional products and the feel of better quality linked with local and regional products.
