Abstract:
I began studying Economics at Hebrew University in 1949, as part of the first class of students in the Economics Department. in 1955 I joined the faculty of the Department and from 1961 until 1965, serves at the Head of the Department, This article describes the beginnings of the Department during those sixteen years, when its character was shaped to a large extent.
