Bernstein-type approximation using the beta-binomial distribution

Andrea Pallini ()

Statistica, 2007, vol. 67, issue 4, 367-387

Abstract: The Bernstein-type approximation using the beta-binomial distribution is proposed and studied. Both univariate and multivariate Bernstein-type approximations are studied. The uniform convergence and the degree of approximation are studied. The Bernstein-type estimators of smooth functions of population means are also proposed and studied.
