Abstract: The present paper focuses on the use of double sampling scheme in stratified random sampling for estimating the population mean in the presence of non-response. Motivated by Khoshnevisan et al (2007), we have proposed a family of combined-type estimators of population mean utilizing the information on an auxiliary variable with the use of double sampling scheme under non-response. The optimum property of the proposed family has been discussed. An empirical study has also been carried out in the support of theoretical results.
