Abstract: This work focuses on the challenge in protecting soft or vulnerable targets against terrorism. Using the suicide bombing attempt of the JW Marriott hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia as a case study, it depicts how hotels and other American business operating overseas can protect their facilities and personnel.
