Abstract:
Critical Infrastructures at Risk--Securing the European Electric Power System by Gheorghe, Masera, Weijnen, and DeVries uses ``securing" and ``security" in a different sense that the typical U.S. usage. They are considering the stability of the entire European electrical power grid for reliability and ability to support economic growth and for resistance to internally caused blackouts. Very little emphasis is placed on terrorist and natural disaster risks and vulnerabilities.
