Abstract: This paper describes assessment of the level of the security system of the Slovak Republic and provides clarification on the procedure of increasing its quality. The authors describe the results of their expert activities within the bodies of crisis management on the level of central bodies of state administration, as well as on the level of scientific and research activities of the Department of Crisis Management at the Faculty of Special Engineering of the University of ilina in ilina - Slovakia.
