Abstract:
This book provides a comprehensive account of the official planning activities that buttressed attempts to rebuild the city of New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. It constitutes an important contribution to the field of emergency management and specifically to understanding the role of professional planning for disaster recovery operations. It offers a set of extremely valuable lessons for the future and reflections upon the recent past.
