Wassertourismus: Zur Bestimmung eines verwässerten Begriffs

Abstract: The term ‘water tourism’ is not clearly defined. As part of a systematic literature analysis, 66 German- and English-language publications on the topic of water-related tourism were identified. Aspects such as tourism on lakes, rivers and coasts as well as marine and nautical tourism were also taken into account. The works were subjected to a qualitative content analysis in order to identify commonalities with regard to the definition of the German term ‘Wassertourismus’ and to develop a reliable and practicable definition for it. This summarises the wide-ranging perspectives into a concise description of the term.
