Krisen im Tourismus als neue Forschungsrichtung. Forschungsstand zu den Ursachen und Effekten terroristischer Anschläge

Aschauer Wolfgang

Zeitschrift für Tourismuswissenschaft, 2009, vol. 1, issue 1, 13-28

Abstract: Since the turn of the millenium numerous tourist crises (terrorist attacks, epidemics and natural disasters) influence the travel behaviour of tourists worldwide. The investigation of the crises effects in tourism research is still in its infancy, only a few studies and publications refer to this subject. This article tries to systematize the risk and crises research in tourism in reference to terrorist attacks and to summarize the state of the art on causes and effects of attacks on tourism. Based on the existent findings new unexplored research questions are developed and should contribute to the further development and establishment of the risk and crises research as a new research field in tourism science.
