Abstract:
After the ratification of UNESCO’s convention for the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage in Switzerland, a list of living traditions was created via a multilevel inventory process. Additionally, an interdisciplinary research project was launched, which investigates the valuing and use of intangible heritage for tourism purposes. A conference was held and a guidebook about the realization/development of tourism products was published. The participation of all relevant actors is a key factor for the inventory process, as well as for the development of tourism products.
